Luigi Nono, Venedig | Arnold Schönberg, Los Angeles

Thursday, May 23 | Friday, May 24

The study day is dedicated to lectures and discussions focusing on the composers Arnold Schönberg and Luigi Nono as readers of literary and philosophical texts. Reading frequently provides the initial impetus for a concrete compositional project. Lectures on their personal libraries, reading experiences, entries in books, and annotations in scores will contribute to an in-depth exploration of the intellectual world of the two composers.

4.30 – 7.00 pm: Contributions by Stefan Jena, Matteo Nanni, Nikolaus Urbanek, Gianmario Borio
